Squeeky Clean.

I am back in KL. But without Rolla since I am lazy to drove it back. At the moment, my Sparco seat is still at a cushion shop. Re wrapping it back, this time with black fabric and I'll put it on the passenger side. Gotta be lucky to sit on a refurbish seat while me still on the used Bride seat. Sigh. Most of the time its Mok who' siting there so why not.

And I shall drive back dad's Wish since the semester gonna end. So two cars and two bikes in JB? Ghahaha. Not bad for one driver.

Anyway, Mok did something for Rolla today. She washed the car and waxed it.

Waxed! Time to buy a car cover and put Rolla on rest mode.

As For Now..

Celcom sucks. Slow ass service. I just cant update the blog due to super slow Internet connection. Anyway, I finished my fourth semester already! Yeah, four more semester to go before pursuing my Master course Insyallah.

In the mean time..

Project : Face Lifted. Part IV..

First hell week is over! Its Test 2 season so these few weeks gonna be stressful and tight. Oh well, its healthy to focus on other thing sometimes. Life is not just for Rolla. Been focusing on the car too much. This semester gotta score very well to increase my overall CGPA.

Anyway, the RARE grill is on the way now.

New hood pin again. For the third time. This time back to OMP pin.

Hit a deep hole just before a hump. Speed was around 10km/h and this is the effect. Fucking typical Meleisian road. Also cracked my exhaust AGAIN. So this should be the fifth or sixth time visiting the exhaust shop.

And since the color that I had painted on the new fender didnt match the old color, I decided to send a sample to a paint shop and asked them to mix my old color back and packed it in can spray. It is ridiculously expensive (RM22 per can) so I only bought three cans.

Surface prep for painting. Sanding, filling and keep sanding.

Since the car gonna have some RARE parts, I guess drifting action should be done more careful now or in other words, I'm gonna be more poser than before. HAHA.

Defak is wrong with the RARE? Why did I type it in capital letter?

Hey mang! Nice Starlet.

Went to the hobby shop again. And as usual, the plan was to pick up my Hakosuka kit that I had been reserving it for a month. Until I saw another kit, so gotta hold it again damn it. Anyway, Mark II kit is almost done now. Clear coated and polished. Suppa shine.
http://a6.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/197963_10150133617507002_643222001_6545128_7588799_n.jpg

My first GP kit ever. I bought it because its the only Tamiya product; the real deal when it comes to 1/24 kits. Tamiya is the best brand you can have.
http://a8.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/198519_10150133327642002_643222001_6542710_5064833_n.jpg

And another 2 RARE old school kits. The top one belongs to Mok. Its a aeroplane kit from Tamiya. The date manufactured was around early 80's. Can be consider old stuff already. The bottom one is more RARE because it was manufactured by a Russian company, and the toy was produced on 1971! Old is gold, and Amar loves junk. Ghahahaha. These two will not be assembled and will be on display only. Who knows another 20 years it will become super duper ultra rare?
http://a2.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/198191_10150133326552002_643222001_6542705_6601182_n.jpg

Passenger seat now is on a railing. Yay. Before this it was shut down on a bracket. But the railing height is a bit tall.
http://a1.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/196784_10150133359327002_643222001_6542818_6972605_n.jpg

The picture that left many people questioned. When did Amar bought a Starlet? When did Amar bought a Datsun B310? When did Amar bought a Sunny 130y? Ghahahaha.
http://a1.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/197066_10150133411662002_643222001_6543133_5489075_n.jpg

Check out the new face. Like it hate it? This is before fitting the front spoiler.
http://a1.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/198895_10150133355677002_643222001_6542807_2382852_n.jpg

I am very happy with the outcome if you asked me. The looks might be a bit weird for the first few times, but later on I think it is very nice. Now its RARER than most of you guys. HAHA. And people had been calling it a Starlet Sedan!
http://a4.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/199051_10150133404702002_643222001_6543120_8263591_n.jpg

Anyway, them at Speedster Garage had done a great job for this project. Engine rev has drop, no more laggy low rev, all the lights and indicator are working now, and etc. And now, should I have it painted or just left it like this?

How Much Do You Spend?

Everytime people greet me, one of the question that will be asked is this; "How much had you spent on the car?"

Even me myself asked the same question; how much had I spent on the car? So lets do some maths. I'll only calculate on the upgrading, and repairing. Tires, runner, and maintenance (engine oil, etc) will not be included. So lets get going. Oh, its just an estimation and the currency is in Ringgit Malaysia.

Once upon a time..
http://a6.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc3/22432_216701722001_643222001_3059887_6110804_n.jpg

11000 - The car. (Okay, I only have 9000 that time. 2000 was given to me by my parents. Happy?)

90 - Bullet mirror. (Now it cost RM300+ for the same mirror.)

900 - Advan Oni and spacers.

200 - Tinted. (Which did not pass Puspakom inspection later on. Zzzz.)
500 - Brand new re-pro complete DX set.
1400 - Paint job.

500 - New BOV, intercooler hoses.
400 - Exhaust and cable plug.
150 - Ultra Racing bar.
350 - Half cage.
1300 - Top overhaul.
500 - Plus minus the miscellaneous stuffs.
17000 - Total.

After the car failed the inspection when I tried to sell it, here's the second life of the car:
http://a5.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash2/37468_417832727001_643222001_4555039_6720511_n.jpg

5000 - Engine, LSD, coilover, workmanship and etc.
200 - Exhaust work.
700 - Work Equip 01.
250 - Nardi.
350 - Sound system.
500 - Wiring job.
600 - KE74 facelift.
500 - Custom bodywork and paint job.

400 - Plus minus the miscellaneous stuffs.
8500 - Total.

Overall:
17000 + 8500 = 25500.

I'm sure the actual cost is more than this. So where does the money come from? MLM (:D), selling car parts, photography job, savings from pocket money and etc. How much had you guys spent on your car?

Friday the 25th.

Okay, other than the court case, tried to comfort myself by doing some works so that I'll be occupied. And after finished my 1st week exam, decided to went back to Mok's house since she's doing some cuppies that people ordered. Fugly without the front spoiler.

And there's some noise that had been bugging me since I bought the rear AE86 adjustable. There's this squeaky noise every time there's movement. I do suspect the bushing would be the problem. So, jacked up Rolla and I was using anything that is available that time.

And the adjustable was removed. Some people were already asking what adjustable is this. This is an adjustable set for the Corolla AE86 by a local company, ACE suspension. Yes it is a coil over. Yes I do not need to use the separate spring and absorber and yes, it is plug and play. Hope it helps.

Upon inspection, found out that the top bushing on the absorber was not on the correct size. It should be fitted nicely not this loose.

I was thinking of putting some grease and hope it will stop the squeaky noise. Until I checked the bushing for the mount. Okay, I am noob. #Fact. Some awesome dude think I am very noob. Also #Fact. So I just think logically and I don't have any automotive experience. And you know what, I don't give a shit. #Also the third Fact.

Here's the absorber bushing. For below the dust cover and on top of the dust cover.

And the top mount bushings. Noticed that the top had two bushings but different in size.

So I just removed the bigger diameter bushing for the top mount and fit everything back. And greased everything necessary. And the squeaking noise is gone now. I am happy again. Anyway, found out that the bottom screw's thread had worn out. Went to a local workshop to have some spare screws. The absorber will pop off (a lot of chances to occur) for sure.Lucky me and hopefully nothing will happen after this.

While the car was still on the jack, I tried this thing. Some sort of tar rubber for the undercarriage. Once it dried, it will become gummy. Act as a anti-rust and also sound deadening. It is very thick and I had to use kerosene to dilute it.

Did the tire arch, and also all undercarriage from front till back. And I am a messy dude after that. #Fact; I am running 1' spacer on the rear set so that my pussy offset wheels will be pushed more to 'fill' the over fender. Coz my rims doesn't have a -10 offset.

When its done and while I was filling some gas, I noticed that the rear set had gone even lower than before. I am happy with the stance now and also no more scraping hump problem after rerouting the exhaust pipe.

Rolla @ JB.

Before I went back to JB, I did sent Rolla to fix the air conditioning system. Anyway, this is Rolla's current height. I already increase the height but still low with the small tires.

And some close up on the new fiber hood.

And the damaged condenser. Slightly twisted and damaged. Cost me RM500 to fix the bloody air conditioning system.

Exhausting Day..

Its happened sometimes when you feels like that the time that you have for one day is not enough. I always experienced it everytime I got back home. Saturday is the only day I can send Rolla to have some repairs or the only time I can spend with it. Always like everything must be done that day coz on Sunday, I must go back to Skudai already. And the worst part of all these, is the waiting game.

So what did I do in 24hours today:

9am : Woke up and prep myself for a long day.
11am : Arrived in Klang with Chung, Mok and my brother. Chung is fixing his car and also I am taking out his audio system.
11.30 am : Send Chung back to his work place at Damansara before returning back to workshop in Klang.
12.30 pm : Foreman and Hashim still not around at the workshop so I went to tire shop to change some new rubber.
3.30 pm : After waiting very patiently, finally my car was done with new rubber, alignment, and balancing. So long meh? YES. Change this and that rubber, some more Rolla was stucked at the shop's ramp coz too low and the problems multiplied.
4.00 pm : Hashim arrived, and finally some work done. Took out all Chung's audio, some instruction on Chung's Corolla on what to be done and this that, looking for my condenser replacement but didn't found one, fixing Chung's radio inside Rolla, and some business transaction with Hashim. I got a new hood.
5.00 pm : Finally went to Sunway Pyramid with Mok and my brother for some ice skating fun. Yeah, they were waiting very patiently also inside Getz all that time.
7.45 pm : Went back to Klang to pick up my car. And went home. Only got new rubber and radio installed. I want the aircond to be fixed :(
8.30 pm : Arrived, clean up myself, and some DIY session. Set Rolla's stance to higher a bit since it was way tooo low. And also put on my new fiber hood with Mok's help.
11.30 pm : Done everything and went to MAEPS coz today was the last drift session ever at MAEPS.
1.30 am : Went to KL for sight seeing and finally went back home.
2.30 am : Arrived, and now I AM TIRED AND MESSY. Huarghh.
4.16 am : Still writing blog.

Enche Nardi II.

I'm back home already. Still got a few things needs to be done before Rolla is finally fit and tip top again. The aircond, the alignment, and some fixin should be right. Also an oil change too.

Problem is, I already planned on what should I do one by one. Seems like everything had crashed together now. Earlier, I wanna put on the oil cooler when I change the engine oil. But now, I have the oil cooler, but I still didnt have the hoses and the adaptor. Aircond also still didn't fix. Hmm.

Then, the audio stuffs. Also crashed with my plan to swap some new rubber. And then this and that. Sigh. So many desires yet so little cash. Hmm. And then bought this too:

http://a3.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/180092_10150100554947002_643222001_6227684_6220688_n.jpg

Anyway, Rolla had been slammed. Now suppa low to me coz I cant pass over every single hump. Front adjuster just 10 loops left, while the rear one had been adjusted till max. Will snap some tomorrow.

Seksyen 18 Drift Day 1.

Woke up early on Saturday to have a fix on Rolla. Seems like the push start is not working (Eventually it was only a loose socket LOL). Of course, went all the way to Klang to the same shop that did the engine work. Upon arrival, I was greeted with Hashim's Celica.

Check out the rear wheels! Farkin bloody offset Meshies!

DIY : New Front Pannel.

My second busy day as today I am excited to do some work on Rolla. I dont have any experience on doing it myself but I give it a shot today. Started early in the morning. First thing that I did was spraying this new panel with undercoat. Few layers should do.

http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash2/hs496.ash2/76897_468658077001_643222001_5542880_3899105_n.jpg

Then moving on to the next step was removing the whole face of Rolla.
http://l29.sphotos.l3.fbcdn.net/hphotos-l3-snc4/hs1206.snc4/155834_468658427001_643222001_5542883_4181503_n.jpg

Learned from my few experience when doing work; always make sure the work area clean and organize so that you wont miss anything when the assembling process.

Experienced : Stripping a Toyota KE70.

Here's some photos during the stripping process. Some asked why the owner wanna scrap the car, and here's the reasons.

*His in-law didnt like the car to be parked on the lot coz it had been there for a long time.
*The body condition is pretty bad. Gonna need at least thousand to restore the chassis.

http://i706.photobucket.com/albums/ww66/arm_flip4crew2/DPP_0006-2.jpg?t=1290269292

So how do I met the owner? Initially I just accompany this dude, Wheng Chung (WC)to see this car coz he's getting one soon. The price was RM2000. So I was pretty fishy with the cheap price tag. And we check out the car. Since it is in bad shape, the owner wanna scrap it by next week if nobody's buying the car. So I offered myself to help selling his parts.

DIY : C-h-h-r-r-o-m-e.

So Raya without your parents really sucks. You don't have any activity, there's nobody to tell you what to do, and there's nobody gonna bring me and my brother out. Huargh. Too bored and I went to local hardware shop and bought some stuffs.

Mini project began!

I have these two set of DX face lift. One is original Japan and the other one is a brand new from Taiwan. Gotta admit that the Taiwan one cant even imitate it properly.

Hari Raya AidilAdha 2010.

So this year, I didn't went back to my aunt's house at Rompin coz I need to accompany my second brother. He's having his SPM this Monday so grounded for awhile. Night before our Aidiladha, a friend of mine who just bought a DX Blackbelt came to my house and we went out for a drink. Just having a Corolla conversation most of the time. Here's a shot of the cars.

DX and DX Blackbelt.

Some New Toys..

Three papers down and three more to go before I finished my first semester in the second year of my learning course. Fuh! Unfortunately I'm gonna fail one of the paper due to super-duper-complicated Differential Equations. Somehow my brain really cant understand all those weird equations and derivatives and bla bla bla. Nevertheless, I rather take a short course to make sure my pointer stays more than 3.4.

http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/hs1142.snc4/148485_462475047001_643222001_5473585_3721554_n.jpg
Sideways with Steelies.

Aah, anyway, Rolla had been running with a broken fuel regulator (Must be the diaphragm worn out due to high pressure)  for a few weeks already and the consumption is really bad. This time; from KL to JB cost me RM70 fuel and then right afterward the Skudai Toll, the tank was empty. Hahaha. Ask a friend of mine to send some fuel and I'm back in campus. Anyway, the following weeks also were bad coz I spent RM50 to RM70 on petrol only and travel less than 200km.

And, I decided to order some parts to replace the regulator plus a few more items that I had been 'KIV'-ing for a long time. There's more I'm gonna order after this. Just waiting for it to become necessary first.

Recap : Rolla Spotted!

Found this on a friend's Facebook posting. Shot at MARDI around 2009 I think. Was just goofing around when I spotted something that ticked me to think it's Rolla with its previous owner. Went through with the video and yes, it is confirmed. The quiet engine sound, the super loud axle and the turbine whining, who else if it is not Rolla!

Check out 3.21 and 4.20.

2009!

Back to KL.

Finally. After going through up and down this semester, 29.10.2010 marked the last day in our semester. And my last paper was Hydraulic at 9am today. Struggle the whole Thursday just to make sure I can answer it. Even sacrificing my sleep for it. And straight to class and exam.

Anyway, glad its over already. Yes, I screwed up a few subjects this semester thanks to the problem that had been bugging me since July. And yeah, I'm recovering from it. More post means I'm getting better day by day. Okay so I didn't sleep last night, and after the test, I decided I want to get home before evening. Earlier wanna get a bus to KL, but instinct told me I better ride Rolla so that my study leave/holiday will not be so boring. So, packed everything and I'm ready to go!

12.45pm. 300km trip.

Saturday..

My problem in JB is that I don't have a proper Internet connection in my college. Yes, I have Maxis 3G Internet for my iPhone but that is for mobile surfing and really not suitable for blogging. For blogging, I need a lot of time and a proper Internet or else I will not have the mood to type some shits. And yes, WiMax, you sucks. It didn't have any signal in my room, and I had been trying to terminate the service. And yes, WiMax didnt have a lot of centers here in JB. The nearest one is located near Tebrau which is quite far from Skudai. So, only when I went to the library I will have the connection I need.

Some hyper-speed at the library! Mind you this is the ground line speed. Not WiFi.

So the problem is; I'll write a lot of stuffs and with different title and in one go. So for now, I'll do bulk post till I have the proper line.

Accessory Shop Visit.

I'd been busy with Rolla since she arrived in JB with me. Kinda excited every day coz there's still a long to-do list with Rolla. So here's another session.

Finally its time for Rolla to have some proper audio. The old speaker is still running good, but every time I turned on the radio, the exhaust note is actually louder than the speaker's sound. So, time to swap to a new speaker. Just some cheapo China speaker and a new tweeter.

The Arrival.

Yeah, kinda late update, but yes. Rolla made it to Johore! Kinda relieved that I arrived safely and without any problem.

Okay, so found out that the consumption is a bit high if I wanna compare it to Jazz. So earlier I pumped in RM60 only. Coz Jazz normally only consumed around RM40 to get to JB which is 300km from KL.
