Successful Surgery.

Finally got a time to finished up the paint job and with the job completed, I'd say the project is done successfully now.

Backtrack, while the overfender was painted with white color.

And the next day tried to fit it in, the color was perfectly the same. Really worth my RM22 can spray. By far that is the most expensive spray can I ever bought.

And for today's work, started a bit late around 4pm. Kinda rushing coz the weather is great. Sunny and hot. Suitable condition for spraying job.

Took me almost 40minutes to wrap the car.

And few hours later, after many coats from the white color to the clear coat, its done. Looks nice without the bumper.

Oh, the rare grill had arrived. Unfortunately KE74 trim does not fit the KE76 grill. Damn it. But luckily the bracket holes are the same as KE74, just a bit longer. So I'll cut it a bit to force fit em.

And the results. Not bad for a half ass paint job.

Project : Face Lifted. Part V.

Did it during the weekend. So basically, I just remove everything to get started. Even the overfender.

Keep on sanding till I'm happy with the curve.

Not bad for DIY work. Took me 30 minutes to complete both fender.

Project : Face Lifted. Part II.

The next day after checking the stuffs that had been sent to me, only to found out that the square headlight is from a Datsun B310. Also in other word, the square headlight used here is the universal square type. Can fit most car, such as B310, Blackbelt, the KE72, KE74, and also noticed that the 180SX also using the same head light.

Knew about the 180SX headlight coz the other day, decided to have a shotgun ride with the foreman during testing. Although it end up on a roadside after having a clutch pump failure.

Back to the observation, I noticed that the lamp given to me is a seal beam type. Meaning that there's no bulb change. Once broken, replacement is a new unit of this thing. Which also mean I cannot use my trademark Blue/White H4 bulb if I am using this. Anyone interested with my used set? Selling it at RM40 only.

Although they said that seal beam produce brighter light, I still prefer my old bulb. So, asked them to order a new non-seal beam headlight. Depo from Taiwan.

There goes my favorite blue reflection on a headlamp.

Interior had been stripped out for major rewiring.

Since I got a lot of free time, and was provided with this stuff:

Polished my old bumper to its glorious shine. As good as new.

Some Autosol and polishing in progress.

What else can be shine? The Equip - Yes. The Riverside - No.

See how buff it is!

Done!

End of Part II.

Friday the 25th.

Okay, other than the court case, tried to comfort myself by doing some works so that I'll be occupied. And after finished my 1st week exam, decided to went back to Mok's house since she's doing some cuppies that people ordered. Fugly without the front spoiler.

And there's some noise that had been bugging me since I bought the rear AE86 adjustable. There's this squeaky noise every time there's movement. I do suspect the bushing would be the problem. So, jacked up Rolla and I was using anything that is available that time.

And the adjustable was removed. Some people were already asking what adjustable is this. This is an adjustable set for the Corolla AE86 by a local company, ACE suspension. Yes it is a coil over. Yes I do not need to use the separate spring and absorber and yes, it is plug and play. Hope it helps.

Upon inspection, found out that the top bushing on the absorber was not on the correct size. It should be fitted nicely not this loose.

I was thinking of putting some grease and hope it will stop the squeaky noise. Until I checked the bushing for the mount. Okay, I am noob. #Fact. Some awesome dude think I am very noob. Also #Fact. So I just think logically and I don't have any automotive experience. And you know what, I don't give a shit. #Also the third Fact.

Here's the absorber bushing. For below the dust cover and on top of the dust cover.

And the top mount bushings. Noticed that the top had two bushings but different in size.

So I just removed the bigger diameter bushing for the top mount and fit everything back. And greased everything necessary. And the squeaking noise is gone now. I am happy again. Anyway, found out that the bottom screw's thread had worn out. Went to a local workshop to have some spare screws. The absorber will pop off (a lot of chances to occur) for sure.Lucky me and hopefully nothing will happen after this.

While the car was still on the jack, I tried this thing. Some sort of tar rubber for the undercarriage. Once it dried, it will become gummy. Act as a anti-rust and also sound deadening. It is very thick and I had to use kerosene to dilute it.

Did the tire arch, and also all undercarriage from front till back. And I am a messy dude after that. #Fact; I am running 1' spacer on the rear set so that my pussy offset wheels will be pushed more to 'fill' the over fender. Coz my rims doesn't have a -10 offset.

When its done and while I was filling some gas, I noticed that the rear set had gone even lower than before. I am happy with the stance now and also no more scraping hump problem after rerouting the exhaust pipe.

A Day with Rolla.

Today, went to Jeembo's Garage in Kajang to check the air conditioning system of Rolla. My early assumption after visiting few air-cond shop was the cooling coil. Which is inside the dash. I know air-cond prob usually gonna cost a bomb to fix it especially when it comes to the compressor, blower and what not. I also bought a used cooling coil from a friend and was hoping that's the only thing I need to replace.

Arrived, and I was greeted with JMG's new car; just arrived yesterday, the AE86 Trueno. Been told that the car had been inside a warehouse for a long long long long time. I'll get to it later.

Anyway, after Rolla was checked, found out that the problem is the condenser, not the cooling coil. The condenser had been smashed by a medium size rock, thus leaking out the gas. Relieved, I guess I just need a new/used condenser to solve my problem BUT since today is  Chinese New Year, all shops were closed, so have to find it from my friends. Hopefully can get it before Friday.

Also asked them to fit in a rubber spoiler taken out of Din's car. Been wanting this spoiler for a long time too. Finally got it. Thanks to Hashim for selling it at me. Time to drill some holes after marking it.

Also while waiting, its time to do the project I had been delaying; the filter for the four-throttle.

DIY : New Front Pannel.

My second busy day as today I am excited to do some work on Rolla. I dont have any experience on doing it myself but I give it a shot today. Started early in the morning. First thing that I did was spraying this new panel with undercoat. Few layers should do.

http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash2/hs496.ash2/76897_468658077001_643222001_5542880_3899105_n.jpg

Then moving on to the next step was removing the whole face of Rolla.

Learned from my few experience when doing work; always make sure the work area clean and organize so that you wont miss anything when the assembling process.

DIY : C-h-h-r-r-o-m-e.

So Raya without your parents really sucks. You don't have any activity, there's nobody to tell you what to do, and there's nobody gonna bring me and my brother out. Huargh. Too bored and I went to local hardware shop and bought some stuffs.

Mini project began!

I have these two set of DX face lift. One is original Japan and the other one is a brand new from Taiwan. Gotta admit that the Taiwan one cant even imitate it properly.

DIY : Brake Switch, Idle Screw or Screw the Idling?

So here's some progress on Rolla this week. Kinda free now coz my semester is gonna end next week. Most of my subject had already finished their syllabus; now focusing on my second test and finally a break before our final exam. So, using my free time; tried to do some fixing on Rolla. This time on my own. No workshop or friends helping. Just a few phone call and SMS asking around few close friend. Hehehe.

Was trying to adjust the idle coz Rolla's idle was at 1.6k to 2k. That's just plain unnecessary! So, decided to fix it myself. First thing that I touched was this sensor. Earlier I thought this is the thing that I need to touch in order to lower the idle. And guess what? I was wrong! HAHA.

DIY : 4-Throttle Trumpet Filter.

Got myself a deal from Dworks. A set of trumpets for the Blacktop 20v. Medium length. So I guess it should improve mid-range power?

Rolla had been running without any filters since I got it back. Yes, it improved the performance coz there is no air restriction, but the downside is that it sucked everything thus making the internal dirty and probably damaged.

Florescented?

I hate delaying new updates coz when I update it, it will be a bulk update! Every time I do it, it will be two or three new topics at one time. Thanks to the exam and lack of internet line, I cannot post it on time. Ok, so Rolla is not with me currently. Where she went?

Currently at Jeembo's Garage for some repairs. So, why now? Actually I fed-up already with the leaking here and there. And also regularly topping up the engine oil is expensive! So already told them to change all the gasket, also the power steering leaking issue. Asked them to replace whatever leaked it. And anyone noticed that Rolla's axle become too noisy now?

Well after they checked and test drove it, they found the source already! Actually the axle is still in good condition despite some noise (Bearing maybe?), what make it so loud is the bushing at the long shaft broken into pieces already. So, another thing that will be replaced too.

And last thing to be done?
http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i178/arm_flip4crew/Resize0002.jpg?t=1271348009

Wiring! After constantly being reminded by Mr. Movin & Joe 40sen, finally got a chance to do the wiring back. Hope they'll do some magic to this messiness. Not hiding the wires, just clean up the messiness.

And got this front spoiler back! Will fit it back to Rolla. Brand new one. Thanks to Retro Bodykits for sending it to me. Oh, another one is for Din Longchamp.

Meanwhile?

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i178/arm_flip4crew/Resize00062copy.jpg?t=1271348699

Lubed all my metal tools to prevent it from rusting and etc.

More tools and some stuffs!

Usual routine for DIY-ing the rims. Cleaned it up and dried it.
http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i178/arm_flip4crew/Resize00043copy.jpg?t=1271349274

Then sand it lightly to remove dirt and top layer of surface.
http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i178/arm_flip4crew/Resize00052copy.jpg?t=1271349274

Undercoat it, paint it, and clear coat it. And dried it!
http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i178/arm_flip4crew/Resize0004.jpg?t=1271349274

Done!
