Just got back from Malacca trip and went straight to JMG.
Current progress? Engine in already.
Cages bolted on already. Rolla's body gonna be stiffer now!
Also, asked them to spot weld the strut tower from below. Just wanna glue up the loose joint. Both strut tower were welded. Hopefully will improve a bit handling.
The caster rod holder also were welded heavily. Hehehe.
And unfortunately, I cannot test it on MARDI this weekend, but never mind coz you cant rush perfection! Will save up the tires for next week event.

Engine - Out. Cage - In? Part II.
Okeh.. So here's today's update!
Around 5pm, went to Dworks in Sri Kembangan to pick up my half-cage. Took it and went straight to Jeembo's Garage in Kajang. As usual, they did it pretty fast. Engine is done. Only wiring left.
Tested the roll cage. Earlier, Dworks mentioned about the cage; originally it was fitted in a Corolla KE35, then modified to fit Corolla KE70. So, test time!
Fit like a glove?
Head room clearance. Superbly ngam also.
And another view. The plan is to bolt it on. Not weld it. So that I can remove it anytime for daily usage. Dont want too much issue with JPJ.
Drift e-brake button for easier hand braking method.
And the engine. Not going to paint it orange. Wanna keep its original identity.
And if anyone noticed, actually Rolla is somehow following Tougeking's ex-KE 70 exterior actually. And even the 20valve almost the same and the half cage too. Oh well, where is he now eh? He's a good teacher. Even his driving on Cameron scared me to death. Got a chance to had a ride last year. Hohoho.
Anyway, Im going to Melaka tomorrow. Three days of holiday. So goodnite world!

Engine - Out. Cage - In?
After my final paper, rushed to JMG to checked what's the updates with Rolla. Arrived, still saw them working on my engine. Damn, they did it pretty fast. Didn't have a chance to see the internal and the process. Was greeted with Rolla when I arrived.
Hey hey. "How are you doing man?"
Checked the bay. Somehow no rust. A bit crack at the suspension tower and caster holder. And that's all. The rest still in good condition. And about the crack, will spot weld it.
And the engine on a stand. Pretty much done. All cleaned and sealed! Hopefully no more leaking after this. And the internals? Pretty much stock said Jeembo.
Dunno what to describe. Since everything had been replaced. Some close up.
I was hoping to see some surprise but unfortunately no. Stock and no aftermarkets. Kekeke.
And after that, me myself went to a few half-cut shops around Cheras area. What is wrong with me eh? Wandering alone. Hm hm. Ok, so my final destination of the day was Dworks in Sri Kembangan. Actually just wanna window shopping, and asked them this joke question coz I was expecting 'No' as an answer. Asked them whether they have half-cage for KE70 or not, and they told me they have it!
Then again, asked them the price and I wanna see the item. Price quoted and I checked it. And its SOLD! Paid a sum of deposit, and will take it tomorrow. Also bought a handbrake button for drifting.
So? My '3 years at UTM' gift for myself? A roll-cage!

Bringin Down the Engine.
OK, so today I visited my car at JMG. Had been diagnosed already. And the problems?
As I remembered what they told me & what I think of Rolla:
*Engine need to removed from the body. Coz oil sump is too close with the cross member. So cannot remove it without removing the engine.
*Leaking also occurred at the belting area (Is it the correct term?). The oil seal damaged already at one of the pulley.
* Longshaft bushing damaged too. That's the reason the axle is so freakin noisy n 'loose'.
*Crack showed at the caster rod holder.
*Wiring is like fuck. Hahahaha.
So, lets see some random snap first..
Jeembo sold his E30. 9jj front, 10jj rear. Dayyyuumm.
Final posing with the car.
And shall I say I have a twin at JMG? Kay's Rolla.
JMG's fine art maybe? Wireless engine!
Not only wireless, but also wearing one of the most expensive RS Watanabe! Even the tires need to be special ordered!
And.. Celica TA25 with?
1jz!
And back to the issue(s) & solutions:
*Engine removed. So can paint the rocker and cam. What color should I paint it? Flat black? Florescent orange too?
*Change all the gasket and oil seal.
*Longshaft bushing had been replaced. Less noise! And like Mike suggested earlier; try to change the axle oil. See how dirty is my previous axle oil! And already changed it. Even lesser noise!
*As for the crack, will weld it and put some plate to strengthen it.
*Rework the wiring. Cleaning and removing some that are not functioning.
*Putting back the front spoiler. And maybe a new unit of drift e-brake by Drift House, and Arospeed push start + switches + cut off switch coming in too.
But! Will not paint the engine bay coz not all stuffs will be removed. As you can see in the photo, Rolla a bit 'senget'. The other day, I change the pillow ball setting, thus making it one side more negative. LOL. Will adjust it back soon.
So, will try to update time to time. And my last paper is on Monday! Weehooo. See you soon Rolla!

Florescented?
I hate delaying new updates coz when I update it, it will be a bulk update! Every time I do it, it will be two or three new topics at one time. Thanks to the exam and lack of internet line, I cannot post it on time. Ok, so Rolla is not with me currently. Where she went?
Currently at Jeembo's Garage for some repairs. So, why now? Actually I fed-up already with the leaking here and there. And also regularly topping up the engine oil is expensive! So already told them to change all the gasket, also the power steering leaking issue. Asked them to replace whatever leaked it. And anyone noticed that Rolla's axle become too noisy now?
Well after they checked and test drove it, they found the source already! Actually the axle is still in good condition despite some noise (Bearing maybe?), what make it so loud is the bushing at the long shaft broken into pieces already. So, another thing that will be replaced too.
And last thing to be done?
Wiring! After constantly being reminded by Mr. Movin & Joe 40sen, finally got a chance to do the wiring back. Hope they'll do some magic to this messiness. Not hiding the wires, just clean up the messiness.
And got this front spoiler back! Will fit it back to Rolla. Brand new one. Thanks to Retro Bodykits for sending it to me. Oh, another one is for Din Longchamp.
Meanwhile?
Lubed all my metal tools to prevent it from rusting and etc.
More tools and some stuffs!
Usual routine for DIY-ing the rims. Cleaned it up and dried it.
Then sand it lightly to remove dirt and top layer of surface.
Undercoat it, paint it, and clear coat it. And dried it!
Done!
Nice? Well, I like it!!!

Backdate & Update After The Run.
Still in exam week. My last paper is on Monday. And then maybe gonna off to Melaka with classmates for a post-exam runaway. Hmm, meanwhile, Rolla at home had not been sitting quietly. Still manage to get some free times for her.
Backdate before and after the last MAEPS session. Prepping for the session. Thanks to Mike and Blanquito for lending me the 14' rims.
Swap back to my 15' Oni and a set of used tires. Falken Azenis for the session. Sayang the tire but but but...
And after session. Tire stocks are decreasing now. Sigh. Still got another 4 left at shop. Hehehe.
Anyway, there's a reason why I'm still borrowing the rims. We'll go on to that a bit later. And here's an indicator that Rolla's going too fast?
Or slammed? 5-star spoke and 'spender' rims. Just like the full scale Rolla.
But after a moment, this model kit looks like Din's KE70! So I decided to paint it back to white color. Kekeke. Will definitely not paint the rims coz it is pretty rare.
And fixed up my camera holder for recording. I think there will be no more shake after this. I'd super glue every loose joint.
Tested it already.

And my miniature model of Rolla actually had been completed. And finally able to source the somehow-exact shape of Rolla's rim! Like it tall?

Saturday Night Drift on 10.4.2010.
Nothing much. Just having fun as usual. But this time, Zamil joined us and manage to share some idea about drifting. Should see him in action sooner or later.
So, here's a few videos were recorded by Zamil's friend.
First, the day run. I dunno what happened to Rolla today. Can be drifted much easier than before! Maybe because of the rear strut braces? I can feel the rear went out much responsive and more tail happy now.
And then after a few session with Zamil, I asked him to record this. Fuck! I love it!
And here's my night run:
Anyway, for the last few weeks, I had been limiting up my tires consumption. Conclusion that I can make after a joining a few events are small layout and slow entrance consume more tires than a big layout and a fast entrance! And everytime I hit MAEPS, I only bring 2 tires for the whole session!
Another thing, I think thanks to the stabilizer bar, Rolla's became more responsive. Will definitely buy more Ultra Racing product after this. And maybe I was revving more than 4.5k RPM that day. Hahaha. Zamil told me that I went out more than 5k RPM.
Lesson from the last session? Always rev more! :P

Ultra Racing 2-point rear bar.
On Saturday, got my ordered item, a stabilizer bar from Ultra Racing. 2-point, will be fitted in the boot to increase Rolla's rigidity.
Some close up shot.
And tried to fit it during the event. Luckily Mike helped me that day. See how flexible he can be? Can smuggle him inside the boot also if I want. Hahaha.
Done! THANKS MIKE THANKS MIKE. He told me to thanked him a lot. So here it is =P
Product's review?
Ultra Racing does not need any introduction anymore. They had been in the market for a long time and had proven themselves over different types of motor sport arena. What I fell when this bar fitted is that I think I can hold the drift much longer without straightening and less effort is needed when holding the drift.
Which mean, the rear end feels stiffer and much responsive than before. I guess it eliminates the rear body roll. Worth it? Definitely! Next stop will be room bar if they have it and I am thinking to fit in the 4-point under body bar or maybe Pro Foam injection to stiffen the chassis? Anyone got a review for the foam thingy? Care to share? And not forgetting rear anti-roll bar.
Another thing that I feel now is, every time I entered a road that is not uneven (Malaysia mah! Potholes, crack, deformation and unevenness on the road surface is really 1Malaysia also), there will be a noise from the back. Once, I snuck into a hole (Fuck it, new road but got holes!?), then there's a loud snap noise in the back. Ouch. Dunno la why the noise is there or where it came from.
Oh, in case anyone finding stabilizer bar from Ultra Racing, why don't try to contact me and tell me which bar you are interested. Might help you out to get a good deal from a friend. 012 72 3345 4 is my number.
Non-related bar photos from the last event. 17' on Rolla? Melvin told me to try it but unfortunately I don't have special screw to lock it. If not, y'all can see already Rolla drifting 17'!
And Mike's rims and rubber fitted on Rolla! Till now also still borrowed it. No time to change tires yet. Thanks again dude!

Photos : Drift Demo at Angkasapuri.
Finished my first final paper. Wohoo. So, here's my full report from the last event. Overall, the track is small! Really small. But they manage to make it interesting for the spectators to watch the action and make the driver to be careful a bit especially the curb on the road side. Huhu.
Both day also freakin hot. I sunburn already. Huargh. Anyway, its been awhile since I last met most of the DCM (drift.com.my) members. I started to disappear after getting Bee. Well maybe too busy with classes and short on RM. So, its kinda good to see them again. Good laugh, good infos were shared and etc.
The event was actually a part of RTM 64 years something something that I forgot already. And was managed by Rattlezasia, which some of them are regular DCM TT (Teh Tarik Session) Kaki. So, had known most of them years ago. Wayyyy back when I was a mere photographer for Bukit Jalil drift event. Ohh, I miss Bukit Jalil. Hope can get back the place one day.
Here was the teaser photo I posted in DCM.
Toyota Corona TT141. Common car in Bolehland aite? But this one? Converted to front and rear part of Soarer MZs something. Interesting aite? Oh, it is powered by RB20DET!
Driven by Nick Superstar.
And this one is a Mercedes Benz W123. Also powered by RB20DET. Driver's nick? Benz!
Amat's KE70 Black Belt. The bumper is pretty unique and distinguish itself from other Corolla. The rear door's pillar was cut out and make it a 'coupe' form somehow.
Rudy of FX Open. Mazda RX7 FC. Huargh, nice Rotor sound!
Startlet Master, Mike! Mbekkkkkk.
And first time seeing Rolla in action. While I went out for a run, Mike's girl; Cheryl took some of the photos here. So big thanks to her for the great shots!
Melvin's A31. Penang mali.
Early in da morning before the event started. See how small the pit were! But somehow with everyone's cooperation, we managed to fit in all da cars.
Small layout and rough surface is da theme for last week.
Friends were making jokes and havin fun. Spotted here are Bob and Manta.
Superstar explaining stuffs to the VIP.
Rattlezasia's demo before they became marshall. Hehehe.
Nice oh?
Amat DX.
And where's an event without a crash? Benz and Burn were talking bout their crash. Hahaha.
Ouch!
Mike and Cheryl.
Mike was shooting me too.
Mr Amat. Really hot that day.
Everyone taking shelter from the heat. And good laughing at each other is the recipe of getting rid of the heat and tiredness.
Superstart close up shot.
Mike Kambeng Golek. Startlet Icon in drifting scene. Hehehe.
Brap brap brap is the way to go! Awesome noise every time he's taking corner. Damn nice sound.
Talkin bout VIP + drift? Here's one.
Burn's Lancer 'Kotak'. CA18DET power house. Another 'coupe' looks from far due to removing the rear window pillar.
And my car in action. On Saturday, still having plug cable issue. Fuckin annoying. Hahaha. Suspect the cable were loose every time I took a corner. A lot of cursing and pressing the cable back and on Sunday? Rolla behave back to normal! And more powerful engine response too! And on Sunday, I fit in the Ultra Racing rear bar. I'll go through it on the next post.
Some shots here showed that I look back when sideways. The reason is because Melvin was behind me when I took a corner. Hahaha. Scared of getting hit, so better I watch my back.
Din Nismo's A3132 (Cefiro + R32).
And forgot to catch his name. Sorry bro.
Damn hot day. Spotted in the photo were Mike, Amat, and Rudy.
Focus, focus, focus!
Participants on Saturday.
And with their drivers.
Copied from Cheryl's photo. Mike and I was pulling a show. How to do it? Fit in the Air Force helmet that I bought in China, open the door, and pull out your leg. I am pretty worried if I bang something, not only my car get hurt, the passenger too!
And finally, got myself a certificate for joining the event. Can add to my port folio too. And oh, I did not bring my camera on Sunday! Lesson learn for next event, wear short pants and driving shoe for more comfort. Hahaha.
OMG, I do look *tough*! Fat alert fat alert.
Anyway, thanks to Rattlezasia for inviting us to play, and to other drifters for the friendliness, guide, help, etc, and Mike & Cheryl for the spare tires (Yeah, on Sunday I did not bring any spare tires but I finished up my current tires! Hahaha. So, borrowed from Mike a set!), help, wake me up on Sunday (Hahaha), helping me fit the stabilizer bar, and for the nice photos!
See ya next time!
And as usual, a video run. This time the mount really fucked up. It became loose thus making the camera's shaking like hell! I'll try to upgrade to a small video cam that can be fitted almost everywhere after this. Thanks to Mike again for the link!
