Seksyen 18 Drift Day 2.

Got a call from Hashim that the track is wet since morning. Me being a late bloomer (Coz I woke up around 12pm usually), prep myself and went to the track. Also pushed Zamil to tag along. Initially just wanna hangout and let Zamil have more practice since the track is wet.

Arrived and Hashim offered us some tires for us to finished. The tires from the two set of rims; the RS Watanabe and the Longchamp. Since Zamil's arch is smaller, I told him to use the Watanabe while me; with the Longchamp.

Stole it from Zamil's Facebook. Naisuuuuuu farking naisuuuuu. Damn Banana! Instantly increase the JDMness of Zamil's Corolla.

Rolla + Longchamp = Awesumzness damn it. My overfender is full with it.

Some more photos. Seriously I'll sell my Advan for these!

Seksyen 18 Drift Day 1.

Woke up early on Saturday to have a fix on Rolla. Seems like the push start is not working (Eventually it was only a loose socket LOL). Of course, went all the way to Klang to the same shop that did the engine work. Upon arrival, I was greeted with Hashim's Celica.

Check out the rear wheels! Farkin bloody offset Meshies!

Saturday Activities.

Yeah, my first day of the 1 week semester break. Fill up the day pretty well. All in all, Rolla is back. Healthy and fit. The starter problem? The lulz thing was, it was only a loose socket! So, fix this and that. Asked the foreman that did the engine job to have a look, and the car is done.

Unfortunately, I am too sleepy now. Had a rib-eye steak for my dinner and I am one fat lazy mafaka now.. Feels like wanna sleep on the couch. Anyway, I promise to do a longer post tomorrow. Hehe. Anyway, some photos and videos:

Its been awhile since I last use the DSLR. Overbright photo due to overexposure. Was at the tire shop. But took like forever to queue for the alignment service, so next time will do.

And while at the workshop. Asked Man to check the TPS sensor too coz  I adjusted it.

And in the evening? Overdose with sideways action.

Recap : Rolla Spotted!

Found this on a friend's Facebook posting. Shot at MARDI around 2009 I think. Was just goofing around when I spotted something that ticked me to think it's Rolla with its previous owner. Went through with the video and yes, it is confirmed. The quiet engine sound, the super loud axle and the turbine whining, who else if it is not Rolla!

Check out 3.21 and 4.20.

2009!

Video : GT Radial Drift Putrajaya.

Full video footage of me during the event. By Zamil Syaheer. Thank you sooo freaking much for the effort bro.

GT Radial Drift Putrajaya.

So, I woke up early at 6am coz too excited and also nervous for my very first drift competition. Packed up my usual stuffs for drift event, such as my helmet, few drinking bottle, water spray, my trusty blue towel, then all my tires and rims. Went to petrol station, fill Rolla with RM50 petrol and increasing the tire pressure. Front is 35bar, and 40 for all the rear set. Straight to track then.

Arrived around 7.45am and I thought Im gonna be the only person there, but there's already few of them waiting earlier than me. Even the management arrived around 8.30am.

Testing the Small Video Cam.

Shots were taken during the previous session. Mounted on the rollcage. Still need some alteration before can make a good recording. Meanwhile, enjoy the onboard video!

Previous Session...

Some oldddd post that should be posted a month ago. Ahaks!

Okay, so finally I decided to gave a few of my friends to drove Rolla for some sideways. While it was a pain in the ass looking at Rolla while they trashed it around, I guess sharing is caring. And also some chance for me to snap Rolla's photos!

And we rent the whole track that day for a private session which mean only us in the track.

Here's Ariff trying hard.

Saturday Night Drift on 10.4.2010.

Nothing much. Just having fun as usual. But this time, Zamil joined us and manage to share some idea about drifting. Should see him in action sooner or later.

So, here's a few videos were recorded by Zamil's friend.

First, the day run. I dunno what happened to Rolla today. Can be drifted much easier than before! Maybe because of the rear strut braces? I can feel the rear went out much responsive and more tail happy now.

And then after a few session with Zamil, I asked him to record this. Fuck! I love it!

And here's my night run:

Anyway, for the last few weeks, I had been limiting up my tires consumption. Conclusion that I can make after a joining a few events are small layout and slow entrance consume more tires than a big layout and a fast entrance! And everytime I hit MAEPS, I only bring 2 tires for the whole session!

Another thing, I think thanks to the stabilizer bar, Rolla's became more responsive. Will definitely buy more Ultra Racing product after this. And maybe I was revving more than 4.5k RPM that day. Hahaha. Zamil told me that I went out more than 5k RPM.

Lesson from the last session? Always rev more! :P

Karunmas Revisit.

While waiting for my friend to showed up today to trade the front lip for an exhaust, I did a few run at Karunmas. Nothing much. Just 3rd gear as usual.

Boost Leaking.

So as usual, on Thursday I will return to home for the weekend. Also finally took Rolla from the painter. When I got the car back, the first thing I noticed that the engine felt like shit. Total shit. Worse that Bee's engine after overhauling.

And the fuel gauge had been fixed. What happen was some paint got in into the socket. So Jimmy fix it up already. I noticed that Jimmy had touch up most of the flaw. Thanks man. And I got my batter back. Just a misplace issue.

When I arrived at home, took my DSLR and snap some photos. Gosh, I didn't regret spending RM5000 on the 50D.

Gosh, I love GL tail lamp. Looks wider than DX version.

See ma Super Duper Ultra bracket for the lip! The reason? The lip flew yesterday at highway. Hahahahaha. See the broken area? No I will not touch up it. I will leave it there as it will remind me to be careful on bump and uneven road next time.

Then on afternoon, the plan was to go to the wiring shop, to change my front rims, and to go for a test drift with Ejat. When he arrived, I took him for a spin. And shit happened. The engine was shitter that before. So we went to my home again. And I found out that the hose at the intercooler already detach from the clip. Torn some more. FUCK!

All plan was canceled and we removed all the piping.

Nah! All the hoses, my blow off valve and the big hose is from my air intake. All were in bad shape.

Went to a local aftermarket shop and bought some replacement stuffs. The first one is T Clamp from ZAP for the air intake. RM15 per clamp.

For the hoses, I opt the Samco hoses. And since my budget was a bit tight, I didn't buy new clamp for it. Gosh Samco hoses are expensive. RM30 for one piece.

Went back to fit it in. And found out again that the ZAP T-clamp didn't ngam. Fed up, we went to a local hardware and buy these freakin cheap clamp for the air intake. RM2 per piece. And it fit like a charm.

One hour after trying to fit the new hoses into the intercooler and piping, it is ready to roll.

Results? Engine performance is back to normal. Even runnin on 1 bar also no more problem now. Conclusion? Boost leaking can fuck up your day and your engine. Never knew that this issue can cause a lot of symptoms and almost ruin my mood. Rolla is back to normal. Performance was like usual. Causes? I guess the painter didn't tighten up all the hoses. That's all.

So? We headed to the Karunmas to test drift! Ejat is with his KE70 5.2k powered by DGAV Weber and me with Rolla. Just a few laps coz we didn't bring spare tires.

The test run:

Rolla's Final Prep.

Tomorrow will be sending Rolla to paint shop which mean I'm not gonna be driving Rolla for a few weeks. Huhu. There goes my toy for a few weeks. So, most of the items that I had ordered had arrived and with Ipin currently. Everything on the exterior will be brand new, and some of the stuffs that I took from Kay today are:

GL tail lamp. So now I have both DX and GL tail lamp.

Spanking new front and rear chrome bumper.

Plate number light for rear chrome bumper.

Cant wait for the final results of the paint job soon. And today I skip my afternoon class to get an insurance. Went to Uni Asia around 2pm, and took this number.

798! And guess the current number at that time? 690! And FOUR freakin' hours later, it was my turn and it took only 15 minutes to get the insurance! Wah, I waited for four hours just to settle 15 minutes procedure. Damn. Luckily, there is NO hassle at all and Rolla is insured for a year. Yay! And finally, Mr. JPJ can change the grant owner's name now.

And I went to PlayHouse Garage (PHG) the other day. Was thinking of making a vented hood but unfortunately, my engine bay is quite messy and too cramped, so I cant make it. Huhu. Monster Starlet in the making. One of the PHG's masterpiece.

Im getting interested with this color.

And a late birthday gift from my brothers. Taraa, a full face helmet! And it's white too!

And the awesome part is that I can remove half of the helmet. Sort of Transformers wannabe. Haha. And inside, there's a retractable visor too. More like shades design to me. Cool eh.

And some leftover photos from the drift practice the other day.

Lijet's MOVE-ing fridge. Awesome offset and hippari style.

The practise ground. I wish the tar is a bit smoother then it would be a perfect practise ground. Hehehe.

The crowds was pretty big. Most of the time, it was Din and me playing around. Kekeke. Din was having engine's trouble too this time.

Burnt spark plug is it? Hope the engine will get better soon!

Sunday Practise Again.

On 1.1.10, I went to Brother's Balakong to tint up my windows. Huah, finally some privacy. Cost me RM180 for all windows except the front screen. Cheap one only.

Getting the measurement.
Image

Almost done. I asked him to remove all stickers too.
Image

Brothers was having a clearance sale, so bought this cute perfume. 3 for RM10.
Image

This is 30% tinted, but I think it is a bit darker lah. Hmm.
Image

And on last Sunday, I went to Shah Alam again for another practise session. This time, Lijet came too. Lijet is a professional photographer and he's well known in KL. Y'all can see his S14 in the upcoming Evolusi KL Drift 2. So, here's some onboard video with him. The handphone holder did a great job. Good investment I think. How's my drifting going? ^^

Rolla's 1st Sideways..

Was suppose to relax at home today. Haven't got a day to rest this few weeks. Huargh. So, Din Longchamp called me today and asked me to join him for some sideways fun at Shah Alam. Not interested to join till he said he got some 15' tyres for me. Huargh. 4 pieces of em some more. Thanks man!

So, we waited at the Batu Tiga petrol station and the last person to arrive is Mr. Tanabe with his AE86 Tofuu! The same car that I had a chance to sit few days ago.
Image

And again, Din bought a set of Longchamp again! This time more offset and hippari style. Looks uber cool!
Image

We arrived at the local drift spot. People called it Extreme Park of Shah Alam I think.. Local group called the Budget Drifter usually came to practice here. They were super friendly too.

Image

And thanks to the Mr. Tanabe for giving me a chance to drift with his Tofuu AE86. Totally different handling feeling and raw power from the 4AGE. Love it!
Image

And officially, Rolla had been drifted. The power is there, but I need more improvement when handling the car. Still didn't familiar with the characteristic of Rolla. But I think Din's Rolla's handling is much better when I tested it at MAEPS the other day.
Image

One of the member of Budget Drifter told me that the Advan Oni is up for sale. I don't have any intention of buying it, but after the owner told me the price (Good one lah..), and they even try to fit it in. Looks good with the fender, so.. after thinking for awhile, I took the rims along with one inch spacer too.
Image

So, here's the spacer. Japan made and 1 inch thick. Thinking of putting it on front rims so that I get more angle and wider stance.
Image

Oh, here's some lame video of mine when testing the track. My lil brother recorded it. Sounds like he's having fun inside. Ignore the laughing and what not. Hehehe.

Here's the link.
